GTFO! Quickstart
Before you begin
This quickstart is for people who already have a HUD and a vehicle. If you do not, see this page first.
Step One: Is your vehicle already set up?
Many vehicles are already set up for GTFO!.
To check, rez your vehicle, right click on it and select “Edit” from the context menu. Check the Content tab for a script starting with “!GTFO! Vehicle API” and a notecard called “GTFO!XXXX”, where “XXXX” is the vehicle code.
If they are already in the contents, skip to step four. Otherwise continue.
Step Two: Add your vehicle’s VAPI code
All VAPI codes are available from the Supported Vehicles page. Use the search field to filter by the vehicle’s name or creator.
Create a notecard named “GTFO!XXXX”, replacing “XXXX” with your VAPI code.
Open the notecard, type a couple of spaces, save it, and drag it into the vehicle’s Content tab.
Step Three: Add the vehicle script
Drag the “!GTFO! Vehicle API...” script into the vehicle’s Content tab.
Rename the vehicle, so you will know it’s configured for GTFO! and take it back into your inventory.
Step Four: Find a hub
There are three ways to find a hub:
- Check your world map for GTFO! sky signs
- Use the Hubs page
- Wear your HUD, click it and click “List all Hubs”
